What a cheek, she says that her and Gerry Mcscam cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that european countries do not make ‘proper’ checks on people and dont protect childen adequately.
I am so angry at reading this, she apparently takes no responsibility for leaving her children at risk and ensuring that one of them came to harm. We still do not know whether Madeline was abducted or not and therefore, this recent publicity is merely another smoke screen to divert attention away from their own behaviour.
Notice that she has chosen the news of the world, the biggest scaremongering rag that ever was printed, to promote the lies.

1this story is definitely hard to find the right answer of the rights and wrongs. but me myself as a mother of 4 would NEVER and i mean NEVER leave any of my children alone in a house while i go off and do something.but what i don’t understand is the hotel complex they where staying had a babysitting service for holiday makers,I’ve never used anything like that but if they wanted to go out that bad surely you would of hired one of them.and now all this time since that poor little girl has been gone the mother still takes the younger ones to a playgroup that is in another hotel complex where they stay alday . I’m sorry but maybe I’m missing something god forbid if anything happened to one of my kids but i would be dam sure that while that child was missing i would never let my other children out of my sight! i cant understand how any mother could allow that to happen. i think that there’s more to this story than there letting on!

3It depends on how you look at it. Madeleine was either abducted or had some harm done to her by her parents. If you are convinced that her parents had a hand in her death or disappearance, then you will not accept Kate McCann’s plea. On the other hand, I am quite open to the abduction theory and therefore, I am more sympathetic to the McCanns. After all, they must know the pain they (and other parents of abducted children, feel, as I have never been in their situation.
You don’t actually ask a question, so it is hard to know what you actually want. It sounds like a rant, rather than a question.

4just read the daily express bout the twins still laying a place at dinner table and how they are hurt over slurs
those 2 make me so angry and the fact she had the gall to come out and beg for help to stop child abductions what a bloody cheek

5“Parts of Europe are a safe haven for sex offenders. They can roam around with no checks. ”
I think it is good they highlighted this. The antis pretend this is all about justice for Madeleine but don’t care about the protection of other kids.
Dr(Watson) UK
I agree with you most of the time but how it can be better for them not to highlight this fact? How is it better for kids at risk? How are the McCanns the wrong persons to deliver the message. The message is not about child care. If they were simply saying what others were already saying I might agree with you.

6The McCanns are scum, how they can continually put themselves in front of the press, but not feel like complete hypocrites is beyond me.

7I really think the McCanns have shot shemselves in the foot as far as gaining public sympathy. If they had admitted they were to blame for leaving the kids alone right at the start & then stopped giving interviews to the papers every single day people might have empathised more.
Also, in the interviews they have given & Gerry’s blog they seem more concerned with the Limited company than their daughter. In comparing their behaviour with that of Sarah Payne’s parents they come across as cold & unfeeling, whereas the Payne’s were obviously distraught, but came across with a quiet dignity at all times.
I think we all want a good outcome but, after all this time, it seems unlikely & public sympathy would be more with the McCanns if they just stayed out of the newspapers for a while.

9it’s ironic cause it’s a case of ‘the pot calling the kettle black’. where were both herself and gerry when madeleine was begging to be protected from the harsh world?.

11So you, and the other like minded ones who answered are proudly prepared to stand by and do nothing to help prevent child abduction, all because you can’t stand Madeleines parents.

12Oh, so it was ‘European countries’ that were supposed to be looking after the little McCanns and making ‘proper checks’ on that fateful night –
These two just never learn do they?!
Luke: The circumstances surrounding the child’s disappearance did not need a sex offenders register etc to prevent it. I know you are at your wits end regarding the ‘anti McCann questions’ but the parents really don’t help themselves do they. Having any opinion on this issue, after their shocking lapse of judgement, is only leaving themselves wide open to continuing criticism.

13a good way to prevent child abductions is to never leave them on their own, that would be a good start

16I tend to agree with you completely on this one and think that they are the last people to start shouting. What you may not have realised is that this paper pays BIG money for stories such as these so, far from it just being distasteful, the fact that they have made money out of it is downright callous in the extreme.

17You don’t believe everything you read in the papers do you? They keep changing their stories about how far away they were and how often they were checking on them. I sometimes spend time at the top of my 100ft garden when my children are in bed. I can see my back door and windows, and I go in and check on them now and again. Does that mean the deserve to be kidnapped?
They are trying to help other children to not suffer the same fate. Lets hope you never make a mistake.
So true jim g and nusha. Some people will believe anything they hear. How small minded. They must all be perfect!

19I certainly think Kate McCann should be one of the last people to opinion on protecting children.
Under the circumstances it would have been far better if both Mr & Mrs Mc kept their heads down.
Saraleon: You’re right of course. I just think because of the circumstances of the abduction, Kate McCann should not be the one to highlight these issues, if Madeleine had been snatched from under their noses it would be different.

20A smoke screen it is – you are right!
The only people sure that girl was abducted, is them. Checks? Don’t bl00dy get me started! If they had checked on their kids – or even better, took them with them, this would never had happened.
Who isn’t checked properly? Middle class parents for a start.
This is beyond a joke.

22“News of the World today – apparently Kate Mccann is begging for your help to prevent child abductions?”
No she isn’t why are you lying?
She was talking about many countries not having a sex offenders register, that it is isn’t illegal in many countries to have child pornography.
The anti-McCanns are sinking to new lows! They don’t even care about sex offenders, attacking the McCanns is more important.
True colours shining through!
Mrs P
Perhaps it does leave them open to more criticism. If some people want to see them having an alterior motive in everything they do then I understand, if on the other hand they are shocked at what they have discovered their public image should not be of any importance.

24She has no morals about child neglect, and deserves no sympathy for what her and he husband brought on themselves.
it is maddie who should be pitied for whatever fate those two doomed her too and for being lumbered with such stupid iresponable parents in the first place.
I am sick to death of all the mccan supporter bleating on about the terrible mistake, it was a delibarate choice to leave those babies alone thay had done it all week,
stupid arrongance flows from them in waves.
I have no sympathy left for them anymore, the sight of them is naseasating to me.
there are thosands of children missing around the world these two should not be given anymore meda apsce, they are fame hungry and it is sickening

25I am wondering how many of you answering this have children of your own. It’s very hard to be there for your children 24 hours a day. It is a 24 hour a day job I know, but it can be extremely extremely wearing, especially having 3 children under 3! In trying to have some time for themselves the McCanns made a mistake that they will never forget and for which they will never forgive themselves.
In keeping their daughter in the media they are doing the very best they can for her. Of course they are hoping someone will report her whereabouts and bring their daughter back to them. It has been a long time now I know but they cannot just forget their child and get on with their lives. If they did you would criticise them for that.
They made a mistake. Even in their loss they are able to see the bigger picture and see that the system is letting evil people roam undetected. I hope something is done. And since they are in the media eye, let them use that to the advantage of all of us. Let them push for an improvment in the system. One day you people may be glad of it.
Where's that pesky fraggle?

26forgive me but didn’t the mark warner resort suggest to the McCann’s that they get a sitter for the kids and not leave them at risk?
What more ‘checks on people’ and ‘protection of children’ are they asking for?
And why are she and Gerry unable to turn a blind eye to this when it seemed so easy for them to turn a blind eye to the issue of their own children’s safety?

27I think Kate McCann is the best person to promote the prevention of child abduction.
Can you please link me to the evidence you have that this is merely a smoke screen to divert attention away from their behaviour, as that’s a pretty major accusation you have made there.
i would also like to see the evidence you have of their lies…
