I watched the news on television and read newspaper, and there seems to be more bad news than good news. I would prefer more good news than bad news. Unfortunately, it won’t likely happen. It does get really depressing for me.

1It would be great, but it’s not likely to happen.
People like car wrecks… I don’t know why, but most seem fascinated with bad news.
I stopped watching the news, and reading papers regularly about a year ago. I read news on the internet, where I can pick and choose what I think I need to know about what’s happening in the world. I don’t allow myself to be ‘forced’ to read something that someone else ‘thinks’ I should read any more.
This works good for me. I try to focus on positive stories, and avoid getting sucked in to the garbage that has seemed to consume the media.

2That would be nice.
But bad news always sells.
I remember in the late sixties “Simon & Garfunkel” released a cover version of “Silent Night” and when the song started there was a low overdub in the background; a recording of the newscast of the day.
As the song progressed the background rose in volume and the longer the song went on about the silent night of Christ’s birth the louder the newscast became until the newscaster’s voice was plainly heard reporting the news. The news and the song continued in tandem until the end with equal billing so to speak and by the end of the song all you heard was the hypocrisy of today’s world. The news was deadly all the way through and when Simon & Garfunkel had finished singing the song the newscaster’s voice could be heard signing off and the whole experience was quite unnerving.
It’s not as effective to me now but when I first heard it back in the sixties it was a harsh wake up call to what is said and what is really being done. We want peace and all we do is fight for it!
Bad news has been going on for decades and decades as the headlines sell with that more than good news and it seems it will continue in this manner till the return of the Christ.
But you’re right; more good news would be nice.

3Yes I would love to see and hear about the good things people do in this world. As if we don’t have enough bad news coming out of the news caster’s mouth, now on most channels they have the scrolling across the bottom of the screen that is very distracting to me.

4Yes I love good news..eg .someone who has got over a seemingly incurable disease, a successful rescue attempt., the birth of a baby just nice things……. wouldn’t it be lovely?
Think of the words in My Fair Lady she didn’t want much just the bare necessities.
