and, What are your kids asking for this year?
I am actually about all out of ideas. I know my daughter wants a new cell phone but we refuse to purchase one. We pay for her service and the deal is if she wants a phone that is more than basic she has to buy it herself (she has bought herself one in the past with birthday money etc). So I don’t even know where to begin with her gifts.
I need to start shopping a little, though! lol
Also, what are the ages of your kids?

1I have a shopping list in my head and just waiting for finances to catch up! My daughter is 5 and I’m planning to cut back on Christmas this year. She has soooo many toys already and she is quite spoiled by the grandparents. Plus, her b-day is only a few days before Christmas as well. I’m planning to get her some new clothes for her American Girl dolls, some of the American Girl books, and some My Little Ponies. I also kind of wanted to get her the Didj from LeapFrog, but it’s a little out of my budget right now.

2I haven’t started shopping yet, but I will start to in the next couple of weeks. My kids are 4 and 2 and by the time Christmas is here, my little girl will be with us. My little ones have not asked for anything yet, and I do not think they will ask for anything at all because of their age. I figure I will get my littlest one some safe infant toys, but probably only one or two things for pictures to be taken while we hold her and open them. For my 4 year old, I will be getting him dinosaurs to play with and a couple of new books as well as a couple of outfits. For my two year old, I really do not know. I think I will know when I get to the toy store. He is more into physical things, like sports so maybe an indoor basketball hoop or something would be fun. But he will definitely be getting some books and a couple outfits. I haven’t thought of the “big” present yet that will be for both of them.
I seem to be more worried about what to get my hubby for Christmas. He has not hinted at anything, and he never tells me if he wants something specific unless it is a video game, but all of the ones I know he is interested in, he will have before Christmas… He is so hard to shop for, but I know he says the same thing about me.

3Well, my eldest is 2.5, my middle is 18 months and my youngest is 6 months, so they’re not asking me for much at all yet!
To be honest I wish they would, because I just have no idea what to get for them (our house already looks like a toystore, it’s ridiculous) and everyone else in the family spoils them, soo….not looking forward to starting the shopping this year!
I really have to get started though, each week I tell myself I’ll start buying just one thing!

4AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH no please make it stop LOL I haven’t started shopping for xmas yet, but my daughter is 5 and lately hasn’t been requesting anything for xmas yet. But I’ll probably get her some toy horses, which she really loves, she likes those my little ponies, the big ones that talk and crawl, they come out with a new version like every six months, she has two.

5I don’t really understand the phenomenon of Christmas shopping in July. We’ll start shopping for Christmas in December. I’ve got a bunch of kids, but how long does it really take to find a few presents per kid? My kids won’t even start considering what they want until December, and never have much of a list anyway.

6I started the beginning of July and am ususally finished by mid Nov the latest.
My kids are 18, 6, 5 and 5ms and their requests have been clothes, a Wii game, books, a ping pong table, driveway paint, a mini soccer goal etc. So far I’ve bought eight gifts in total.

7Our children are grown ups so we usually get them vouchers for somewhere, because if we gave them money it would just get used on other things except themselves. We also give them some small wrapped gift as well. Went into Nest a few weeks ago when they had a sale on. Bought them all smelly packs from there.
Also bought a couple of stocking fillers for the grandchildren, but as usual will struggle for main presents. Four girls between four & ten five boys between ten and fourteen.

8Not really, but I have started thinking about it and saving for it. My daughter is only 17 months, so thankfully she isn’t asking for anything yet. she is really easy to buy for. We buy lots of books and educational toys, and try to stay away from electronic crap.

9My husband usually does the bulk of the Christmas shopping & he has started already, trying to spread it out over time for this particularly trying financial year. He usually gets the big things & I fill in with little things & clothes/jewelry for the teen.

10I’m always picking up little things on sale like bubbles, Hot Wheels cars, crayons, books etc.. I could probably stuff the stockings now! I haven’t bought the big gifts yet because their ideas change so much between now and Christmas.

13Yeah Ive started christmas shopping, with 5 children to buy for I have to. I find it really difficult to know what to buy my 10 yr old girl because she has such an attitude and doesnt appreciate anything. My 7 yr old lad has his birthday just before christmas and he has ADHD and distructs anything that he gets however this yr Ive settled for a BMX bike and a punch bag. My 4 yr lad is just interested in the tv so god knows what I will get him, my 2 yr old daughter has a birthday before christmas and is into taking pictures with my mobile so Ive decided to get her one of those Fisher price digital cameras and probably some dressing up stuff, shoes n lip gloss lol. And my poor baby girl is 1 in November but because everybody else has had everything in the past I do not know what to get her that the others havent already got.
I always try and look for bargains, and pick stuff up throughout the year in sales even if I end up giving to friends children or if the children are invited to birthday parties.
