I am getting ready to make a trip from Jacksonville Florida to San Diego California. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to see with a family (kids under 10) while we make the trip. The Grand Canyon is a must see.

1San Diego has lots of fun things to do for children. The major attractions would be Legoland, the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, and SeaWorld.
There are lots of great museums in Balboa Park including ones about sports, airplanes, trains, science, and art.
I’d really suggest kayaking through the caves in La Jolla. There are lots of companies with guided kayaking trips that are awesome. You get to see lots of marine life up close and personal, see gorgeous scenery, and get some exercise.
On the way….you’re right – Don’t miss the Grand Canyon! In New Mexico, Carlsbad Caverns is a great day trip as well. I’d also recommend the National Parks along the way. Bryce and Zion are both worth a visit.

2Grand Canyon is great but it’s pretty far from SD. Most kids and parents alike love the zoo or wild animal park, sea world, legoland, and the beaches which are free! There is so much to see make sure you plan your days ahead of time and get an early start. Here’s some great resources that I used to save some money on my trip, including how to find discounts to these attractions. Have a great trip!
